Q: I plan on hanging one of these from a tension bar in order to block sound and light from traveling down a hallway. Will this material be too heavy for something like that to be feasible?

Asked by: Tom - 3/1/2016
A: Hi Tom! While Poly Premier drapes are great for pipe and drape backdrops, it's not a blackout or sound blocking fabric. The fabric is about 60-70% opaque (light blocking) when used in normal indoor lighting, and sound would likely easily travel through it.

For light-blocking and some sound reduction (note: we do not have any material that is considered truly sound proof), you may want to consider either our Commando drape, or our 24.5 oz. Velour drape.

Please let us know if we can help answer any other questions. Thanks!

Q: How many panels are in a package?

Asked by: Rosemary - 10/7/2017
A: For this particular item, a Quantity of 1 is for 1 Premier drape panel that is 94 inches tall x 60 inches wide. We recommend using 3 of these drapes per 10 foot wide section, which would give you 50% fullness. If you'd like an even more pleated, gathered look, you can use 4 drapes per 10 foot wide section (for 100% fullness).

In our Complete Premier Drape Packages -- which comes with all pipes, bases, and drapes -- we include 3 drapes per Package. That item can be found in our Complete Packages category.

Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Q: can you see through this curtain ?

Asked by: Marcelo - 12/6/2017
A: This fabric is about 60-70% opaque (light blocking) under normal indoor lighting conditions. It does a pretty good job of blocking light, but it is not a completely opaque material. If you need a more opaque fabric, we'd suggest our Commando, 15.5 oz Velour, or 24 oz Velour. Let us know if you have any questions or if you would like to see a sample of any of our drape fabrics. Thanks!

Q: Hello, I'm interested in your drape. Does this wrinkle? This material will be folded up onto a pelican case for traveling and once a month be used. Our current polyester fabric shows lots of bad wrinkles. Thanks Royce

Asked by: Royce - 2/22/2019
A: Hi Royce! Our Premier drapes are made of Polyester, which makes them less prone to wrinkling compared to some other common drape materials (such as Cotton), but they are not wrinkle proof.

Storing them neatly folded, and without excess of weight on top of them, and any wrinkling should be minimized. Of course, balling them up, or even folding them nicely, but with a lot of weight on top of them, and it's likely that an increased amount of wrinkling would occur.

We hope this information helps, and please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

Q: Why do you recommend getting 3 drapes for the 10 ft wide pipes?

Asked by: Matthew Crooms - 3/25/2019
A: Great question! Each Poly Premier drape is 5 feet wide, so 1 drape would not cover a 10 foot wide crossbar, 2 drapes would just cover the span (but there would be no gathering / bunching / fullness in the drapes -- they would be flat), and so that brings us to our minimum 3 drape recommendation. With 3 drapes, you have 15 feet of fabric covering a 10 foot wide crossbar, which will fully cover the width of that pipe and also allow for some gathering / bunching / fullness (a pleated look) in the fabric. We're always happy to help with any questions!
