Steel (Silver) Bases

For our pipes and drapes to stand upright they need the support of a weighted base. These silver bases won’t cramp your style when it comes to decorating parties, weddings, or any kind of event, and they’ll keep things on the up and up, so you don’t have to worry about the party coming down. Durable 3/16" steel pipe and drape bases are available in a wide variety of weights and sizes. Slip-Fit base pins are included with each base. Shorter displays only require lighter bases in normal conditions, while taller displays require heavier and larger bases. Here are our recommendations for stability:

3 foot tall uprights = 8" x 14" (6 lb.) base
6 foot tall fixed uprights = 16" x 14" (10 lb.) base
8 foot tall fixed or break apart uprights = 16" x 14" (10 lb.) base
10 foot tall fixed, 10 foot break apart, 6-10' adjustable, or 7-12' adjustable = 18" x 18" (17 lb.) base

Any of our bases can be made even heavier by purchasing a 20 lb. rubber base weight. Edge protectors are available on all silver bases for $7.00 per base (these help protect your hands and flooring from the potentially sharp base edges).

Tip: Use the color-coded system to help ensure that you choose compatible parts. When you click on a Base product below, it will give you an option to choose a 1.5 inch diameter Base Pin (denoted with yellow in the product photo), or a 2 inch diameter Base Pin (denoted with blue in the product photo). Take note of which color-code you have selected -- if you're also purchasing vertical Upright pipes from us, be sure to choose an Upright that has the same color code.
