NOTE: We have changed this item from always including a Locking Clamp, to now having the Locking Clamp be an optional choice.

The feedback from many of our clients is that they only (and always) set their Upright pipes at a button-stop height, and that they never have a need to set an "in-between" height that requires a Locking Clamp to achieve. Because of this input, we've lowered the price of this item, and it now no longer includes a Locking Clamp by default / automatically.

If you need to be able to set an in-between / non-even-foot height (such as 11 feet 8 inches tall, or 13 feet 5 inches tall, etc.), then please select the "Add Locking Clamp" checkbox option.

If you will only (and always) be using this at an even-foot height, such as 9 feet, 10 feet, 11 feet, etc., then do not select this option and you'll save even more by not having the added cost of a Locking Clamp.

Button stop allows the height to quickly be set at any foot interval (9 feet, 10 feet, 11 feet, 12 feet, 13 feet, and 14 feet tall).

An optional Locking Clamp lets you set an "in between" height that isn't at an even foot interval (for example, 13 feet 9 inches tall).

NOTE: The clamp is only available in a silver color. Please keep this in mind if you are not always using this item at an even foot interval (and choosing the optional locking clamp).

2 inch diameter black aluminum pipe means less weight and easy set-up.

Four slots in the top at 90 degree angles allow for various configurations such as continuing a linear span, making right angle turns, creating "L" shapes, etc.

This hollow upright works with our Slip-Fit system, allowing for easy installation over our base pins (for 2 inch diameter Uprights).

This item is for Quantity 1 of the upright only. Base and other pipe sold separately.

The minimum size/weight base recommended for this upright is our Heavy Duty 18" x 18" (35 lb) base.

Installing A Locking Clamp

The Locking Clamp allows your Upright to be set to non-even foot interval heights (heights that are in between a button stop location), such as 9 feet, 4 inches tall. To maximize the number of Adjustable Upright pipes that we can fit inside of each box, your Locking Clamp(s) may not arrive pre-installed on your pipe. The instructions below are for installing your Locking Clamp (if you anticipate using your Upright pipes at a height that is not an exact foot measurement):

Step 1:

Push in the button stop while pulling the inner pipe (the pipe with the groove) out from the outer pipe (the slightly larger / round pipe). The inner pipe needs to be completely removed from the outer pipe in order to install your clamp.

Step 2:

With the clamp’s latch “open”, slide the clamp onto the bottom of the inner (grooved) pipe. Be sure that the “nub” located on the interior of the clamp is aligned with the groove of the inner pipe – see the red circle below.

Step 3:

Push in the button stop to allow the clamp to go past it, and slide the clamp up to the top of the inner (grooved) pipe.

Step 4:

Line up the groove of the inner pipe with the dimple that is located on the outer pipe, push the button stop in, and reconnect the two pipes.

Step 5:

The clamp may need to be tightened once installed. You want to get it to the point where if the inner pipe is raised a bit and the latch is closed, the clamp cannot slide up or down on the pipe. If tightening is needed, take a wrench or pliers and tighten the nut circled below in red.

*If the clamp is too loose, the inner pipe will not remain elevated at a non-button stop interval while tightening the clamp. Therefore, the Upright should be laid flat (horizontally) while making any tightening adjustments to the clamp. Otherwise, the inner pipe can come down with force, and may pose a risk to fingers, hands, or any other object.
